An FCCA study shows cruise spending is up despite this down economy.
The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) report analyzed spending by passengers, crew, and the cruise lines for the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, and South America. Spending for the May 2008 to April 2009 season generated US$2.2 billion in expenditures, 56,000 jobs, and US$720 million in wages.
This spending and expenditures has a very positive effect on the Caribbean economy, since most Caribbean islands are heavily supported by tourist dollars.
Have you thought about working on a cruise ship? If you have a skill and working experience in hospitality then this would be a unique experience!
