Construction has begun on widening and deepening the Panama Canal.

Panama is spending $5.25 billion to upgrade the canal allowing a new breed of container vessels to pass through. The project will be finished in 2014.
Jobs are currently being posted, in Spanish, at Panama Canal Authority.
