An opportunity has now arisen for an “IT Data Specialist”

Primary objective of the job:

Assisting in day to day activities DWH operations, processes, and performance of DWH team. Responsible for presenting data from various platforms extracted, cleaned, transformed and summarized for business reporting.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure processes and procedures are in place and working successfully for day to day activities.
  • Ensuring the reconciliation of data received and processed with the source systems.
  • Regular and effective communications with other business units.
  • Budget planning and management.
  • Management of vendor, suppliers and partners including regular review meetings.
  • Set team and individual objectives and targets, monitor progress through periodic reviews and formal evaluation of performance and KPIs. Identify and address skills gaps and training requirements, take disciplinary action where necessary and act as escalation for team members on personnel issues.
  • Provide leadership and direction to generate high performance, high level of motivation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Provide analytical and problem solving skills together with an ability to apply process for incident/problem management including trend analysis, root cause analysis and resolution of issues affecting the business support systems.
  • Ensure the integrity of the DWH data at all times including security, data availability and accuracy. Ensure all product rollouts and changes are planned and managed to ensure minimal negative business impact.

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum of Five years experience in managing the very large (10 TB or more) databases and Performance Tunings
  • Minimum of Three years experience in developing Data Warehouse
